Our Elders

  • Emmanuel Chang

    Originally from Canada, Emmanuel has come to call Calvary Church and Western Connecticut his home. Along the way, he has served in several churches throughout New England as worship director, small group leader, missions team leader, and most recently as Calvary’s Worship Director. Emmanuel works in the I.T. field but considers his role in serving the local church just as important. He has a passion for worship, music, and outreach. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, Korean BBQ, and traveling with his family. Emmanuel and his wife, Sylvia, live in Monroe with their two children.   

  • Kevin DeVos

    Kevin was born and raised in Stamford and graduated from U of CT, Storrs. That is where he met Jesus through the campus ministry of The Navigators and his awesome wife, Janet. They were married here at Calvary in 1986 and have two wonderful children, Gregory and Rebecca. Kevin is a self employed option trader. He enjoys tennis, running and serving the Lord.

  • Kevin Courtney

    Originally from the Chicago area, Kevin and his wife, Shelley are parents to four wonderful children. As a young married couple, Kevin and Shelley committed their lives to Christ and they have been in the Lord’s service ever since. They became members at Calvary in 2015 when they moved to Connecticut from Massachusetts. Over the years, Kevin has enjoyed serving as a community group leader, teacher, short-term missions leader and elder.  Kevin has worked for the past 30 years in the nonprofit sector.

  • David LeMaire

    David grew up in Wheaton, IL and was raised in a Christian home. He accepted Christ at the age of 11 while attending a youth camp in Wisconsin. David attended LeTourneau University with studies in aviation and business. Subsequently in 1982, he served as a mission pilot in Zaire, (now the Democratic Republic of Congo). There he met his wife Margaret who was teaching in a local secondary school. They were married in Zaire and went on to serve with a mission using helicopters to reach unreached peoples in several African countries until 1993 when they returned to the US. David and Margaret have 4 children and 4 grandchildren. David is a corporate pilot for an international company. Since moving to Connecticut, David and Margaret have enjoyed serving and being part of the Calvary family. David enjoys travel, many outdoor sports and sharing Christ’s love with others.

  • Chris Rowley

    Chris and his wife, Kelly, have been married for almost 12 years. They actually met each other at summer camp when they were kids! While attending the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in NY, Chris became a committed follower of Christ and after graduation began a career in shipping and logistics. Eventually, he left his maritime career and resigned from the Navy to direct a non-profit known locally as Bridges. Chris has a Masters Degree from Columbia International University, and is working towards a doctorate at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. He and Kelly love being parents of three boys and they spend their free time hiking, running, and enjoying all things outdoors. 

  • Len Novitski

    Len was born and raised in Stamford, CT and graduated from University of Connecticut. He was saved in 1981 when one of his co-workers shared the Gospel with him. Len began attending an Evangelical Free Church in Stamford where he met his wife, Lynn. They have been married for 30 years and have three sons and one daughter. Len has served the Lord in several churches as Elder, Sunday school teacher, small group leader and as part of the worship team. He has worked in the IT industry for 39 years and enjoys spending time with his family and friends. 

  • Seth Parrish

    Originally from Tennessee, Seth and his wife Robin moved to Connecticut in 2014 after serving as educators at an international Christian school in Seoul, South Korea. They came here as Seth took on his role as Upper School Principal at Christian Heritage School in Trumbull. He teaches Sunday Equipping Classes and has served on missions boards, in youth ministries, on short-term trips, in community groups, as well as in refugee ministries. Seth enjoys trail running, time in the mountains, and a good read. His three children range from 18 to 21.

  • Peter Smith

    Originally from Connecticut, Peter attended Furman University in Greenville, SC. It was at Furman that Peter met his wife, Kasie. They were married after graduation, lived in Greenville for several years and then moved to North Carolina, where Peter attended Wake Forest University School of Law. After receiving his J.D., Peter practiced law in Jacksonville, FL but felt God calling him to full-time pastoral ministry. He attended and graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary with a ThM in pastoral ministry. Peter's prior ministry experience includes serving on staff at The Howard Hendricks Center for Christian Leadership, serving as a pastor at a church in metro-Atlanta, and most recently pastoring at Community Bible Church in Savannah, GA. Peter and Kasie have four children ranging in ages from 11 to 18.
